Commissioned in 2008 by EC DG Research, the study on Monitoring European Trends in Social Sciences and Humanities phase is now starting its second phase under the ERAWATCH umbrella.

The project will last for 18 months. Fifteen countries will be added to the 27 already covered in the first phase.

The main activities in the coming months will be:

• Provision of country reports and country profiles for 15 new countries,
• Updating of country reports and country profiles for the existing 27 countries,
• Regular updating for all 42 countries,
• Short overview reports of common issues (every six months),
• A synthesis report.

Focus will also be given to very frequent updating on events or publications of interest to the SSH community. It is envisaged to create a facebook page to ensure a large outreach of the METRIS findings, and foster broad discussions.
