BackgroundEric J. Iversen, senior researcher at NIFU has worked with technology and innovation policy issues since 1995, with a special interest in qualitative and quantitative analysis of IPRs. He has compiled IPR indicators for national statistics for more than ten-years and is currently co-editing the country's science and technology indicator report and compiling a Nordic indicator scoreboard on low carbon technologies for the Nordic Energy Research Centre. He has worked on a wide range of empirical studies involving patents and other IPR, including coordinating the cross-country effort which linked registry data on Nordic firms to European patent data using the PATSTAT database. He also conducted a national study linking company information to patents and trademark data for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in order to identify patterns of small firm IPR use. | |
