Maja Bucar is a senior researcher who focuses on research and innovation policy in transition countries, with specific reference to Slovenia.

She has been involved in several international and national projects analyzing the role of new technologies and innovation in the economic growth.

Maja is participating in numerous international and national research conferences and workshops in the area of innovation theory, innovation and R&D policies and the development of knowledge economy/ society. She has published numerous articles on these topics.

During these last years, she worked for the Slovenian government (Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Higher Education, science and technology, Slovenian Research Agency, Slovenian Technology and Innovation Agency) on the preparation of key background policy documents in the area of R&D and innovation policy.
