Hatem Mhenni

Description

Hatem Mhenni is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Law of Jendouba (University of Jendouba, Tunisia). He is a founder member of the Research unit "Economic growth and International Finance" (CEFI) since 2004. Holder of a HDR to steer the researches in economics, he supervises at present 9 theses among which 5 in co-supervision with French academics.

He teaches mainly Industrial economics and economy of development as well as the European innovation policy in a Master degree located in the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales in Tunis. He developed skills in conception, evaluation and development of the public policies of Innovation, the implementation of an information system allowing the production of indicators of S as well as in driving surveys in the same fields.

He is at present General Manager of the National Observatory of the Sciences and Technology in Tunisia and participates in the implementation of the same type of structure in euro-Mediterranean countries within the framework of European projects.

His researches concern four different domains:
  • Economic and social impacts of the digitalization of the economy
  • Strategic environmental policies
  • Role of the industry in the dynamics of euro-Mediterranean integration
  • National systems of innovation
He is also an active member of European Union projects; Estime, Innformed, MIRA, Medibtikar and Erawatch (extension) and is selected by UNESCO as a qualified and appropriate expert for advising other Arab countries on how to better proceed to evidence based policy, based on the Tunisian model.

He published several articles in international reviews among which: Revue Tiers Monde, Revue Française de Gestion, Tunisian Review of Economy and Management, Region and Development, Mediterranean Journal of Economics, Agriculture and Environment.
